saw this thread http://forum.americasarmy.com/viewtopic.php?t=306835

some interesting stuff really like this:

"America's Army program chief engineer Michael Barnett said SpeedTree will be implemented in the latest iteration of the franchise to create large, immersive environments and dense forests for the publicly available America's Army 3''

so they are licensee-ing some new software etc still for aa3.

you know the game could still come good, not holding my breath though.

I think they're more talking about forests in general, as they're usually pretty hard to do, or super demanding on PC's, eg crysis.

So if the maps become "large, immersive environments and dense forests"; How long are the rounds going to be? If they are too large, I can see this being "real time" game play ... O.o

crysis isnt that demanding anymore though with new technology. but when it was released even the top end pc's did struggle in the forests etc

It's still the most demanding game in existince but isn't it? Running it on maximum details is still a challenge to get decent fps out of... afaik

like get the aa2 ladder up.. focus on that until fail fail 3 doesnt become so fail.

May be re-open the AA community to comeptitive AA2 with a twist in how it is played. Get some fun back in to the ladder to get everyone back playing, and then look at the more competitive options.

Keen to see some more AA played - was just starting to enjoy AA2 when 3 came along and ruined it for everyone.

said in another thread but an older version where the game was less restrictive could work
