Correct me if im wrong but i understood it as there was only one requirement for weapons which was the 7800 cp, however for t2 you just need the appropriate rating.

Even still season 9 weapons should suffice or possibly newer pve weapons. 2k is still a decent enough base to work off especially if its a new team then synergy etc comes into play.
