HDD: 2 x Seagate 500GB SATAII 32MB )

CPU: E8400 - $255

Cooling: Zalman CNPS9500 - $53

Mobo: Gigabyte P35C-DS3R - $154

VGA: 8800GTS 512mb - $349

RAM: 1 X 2GB DDR2 - $49

HDD: PERSONAL CHOICE LOL

Drives: PERSONAL CHOICE LOL

Soundcard: Creative X-Fi XtremeGamer - $150

PSU: Coolermaster Extreme Power V2 $127

Case: PERSONAL CHOICE LOL

Total: $1200

So you'll have a top end computer capable of upgrades in the future, I'd save some money and wait around six months to buy some DDR3 RAM when it goes down in price and have the capability to buy the next range of Nvidia cards when they are released.

thx juzzie :p

thx also panzotron but you dont understand my situation too well i cant really save money cos of insurance.

swift i really thought the GTS with the 512mb chipsets had bugs in em and that GT > GTS in the 8800 range.

im getting more feedback then i thought.

thx and happy to hear ur opinions.

PC Platform Mod
www.gotgames.com.au/forums/showthread.php?t=15837

~$1750 Build:

CPU: Intel Core2Duo E8400/Intel Xeon E3110 (~$270)
MOBO: Gigabyte GA-EP35-DS3P (~$163)
GPU: Nvidia 9800GX2 (Any brand) (~$770)
PSU: Thermaltake ToughPower 750w (~$205)
RAM: 2GB Corsair TWIN2X2048-6400 800MHz 4-4-4-12 DDR2 (~$88)
Hard Drive: Western Digital 500gb SATAII 16mb (~$120)
DVD Writer (~$35)
Case: Coolermaster CM690 (~$95)

TOTAL: ~$1746

copy and paste, enjoy.
(imo, 3870x2 > 9800gx2, but you decide)

also: dont get a quad for gaming, it sucks for cod4 because cod4 can't utilise all 4 dies in the cpu.

and.. you might want to get a raptor (10,000rpm) for windows and gaming, so the load times are faster, and then use the other main 7200 drive for storage and stuffz

edit: youll be wanting a monitor as well: im gonna get this one when i get my new pc(~$300): http://www.itestate.com.au/products_detail.asp?code=PD00005483

and you also need to get peripherals, so factor that price in.

AND. HOW THE HELL DID IT GET STOLEN??

nope the GTS > GT , and dunno about these bugs that you speak of. Also should really answer the following Q's

Do You Need Peripherals ? (moniter, keyboard etc..)
Are you going to overclock ?
