I've had soft oversized mousepads for years,
decided to try hard & didn't find too much difference with fragging, if any.
Only major difference for me is that the soft ones tend to pick up dust/dirt, hard don't.
Oh, and hard make more noise ^_^

true, large soft ones are probably more forgiving though, especially if you have lanky arms.

Yeah I've got a Steelseries 3HD with a Steelseries Xai, best set up I've ever used. All my mates have deathadders + razer golaith's or whatever they are.

Oh and stay away from Thermaltake, seriously, the Dasher, shittest mousepad I ever brought.

There aren't many hard mats that are any good; most of them are really slippery, but still manage to make scraping noises that make me shudder. They're not as comfortable and there's no real reason to use one unless you really prefer it.

Used a hard steelpad once, I resigned it after a month because it was always so freaking cold on my wrist.

How's THAT for pedantic :p

Also, anyone got any tips on how to clean the razer goliathus?

I had a Destructor used it for a while was pretty okay then I got a Goliathus cause I needed the size. I later went back to the Destructor to see how it was and it was horrible compared.
