Used both pretty extensively.. Hard pads have a nicer feel (imo) but wear out your skates extremely fast... after they wear your skates out the actual PAD starts to wear out, and you get an inconsistent surface.
Soft pads, awesome feel but sweat, dirt and dust will affect your glide later in the mousepads life.
Choice is really up to you because both types are going to be plagued by inconsistency unless you are willing to buy new ones every 8-12 months
Best out of the pads I've used (Steel, Razer, Func, Tt):
Steel s&s (hard)
Steel QcK Heavy (Cloth)
I loved the Razer Mantis (Speed) while I had one, but the Goliathus feels different to me
The Tt Dasher pad isn't but either, but the super smooth glidey surface wears out fast

Also, anyone got any tips on how to clean the razer goliathus?
Hot water, soap and a cloth are your best friends. Try to wash the sweat out then leave it outside on a folded towel to dry... flip when required. Oh and don't forget its outside. I left a Steelseries 5L out in the sun for the day and the plastic bottom bent into a U-Shape in the heat (dumbshit lol)
