Hello friends,
With the final season of BOPS CGo and CG Leagues starting off last week, we feel it is super important that we announce our intentions for the end of this season and the start of MW3. We've got some pretty nifty things in motion.
Shortly after MW3's release, CGo ladders will become live. At the same time the CGo ladders go live, so will a free to play MW3 invitational tournament. The teams that will be invited into this tournament will be strictly chosen from BOPS CG Leagues / BOPS CGo finals teams from this season. This tournament's main priority is to help create the best ruleset possible for the rest of the CGo season and with the first set of Invite Leagues. We will draw at least 90% of our findings from this tournament and the teams involved; it's a big and fun privilege to be apart of!
No newly formed MW3 teams will be able to participate in this tournament, nor will any teams that don't play in leagues or make BOPS CGo finals this season. There will be NO exceptions. This is to hopefully impress upon teams that stability in the team line-up is firstly crucial to success and further makes getting that spot in the leagues easier. Carrying over into the next COD (with your current Black Ops team) will earn you serious brownie-points among the Admin team. We really want to see a lot of competitive teams from Black Ops carry on over into MW3. We will also be nice and strict with the 'team take-over' rule to ensure undeserving teams don't get to participate in the MW3 tournament. Teams that are chosen to participate
MUST also play in CGo as well.
Both MW3 CGo s1 and the MW3 tournie will be completed by the end of February, MW3 CGi s1 will commence shortly after. Teams will be selected for MW3 CGi, based upon CGo s1 results. The tournie will have little to no effect on the decision of choosing teams for the MW3 Leagues. The only instance where it will affect the selection is where two teams who are very evenly matched may need to be compared upon further from their CGo and Tournie outings.
Teams have always started off playing new Call of Duty editions on the CGo ladder as fair game, this is a thing of the past. On top of introducing the nifty little MW3 tournie, we'll also be placing all BOPS league teams + CGo finals teams onto the top of the MW3 CGo ladder. This is of course negotiable as some teams may prefer starting further down the ladder. However, having the predominant teams (from Black Ops) near the top of the ladder from the beginning should mean we will have no need to extend the season due to a poor representation among the ranks come nearing season's end (as we've done in the past, often).
Further In-depth details such as the schedule for CGo and CGi and tournament layout will be released closer towards November.
Thanks Chumps,
CoD Admin Team
