As the title suggests I want to add a sub and soundcard to my current setup.

Current setup:
Onboard sound > Nuforce Icon (desktop amp) > a pair of bookshelf speakers.

This is good except I find the lows are lacking, and wish to add a sub, and whilst I'm add it might as well add a soundcard, as it won't hurt.

Budget all up is about $400-$500 for both.

All suggestions would help, and if this is in the wrong thread can a mod move it to the relevant one.

From memory, the Icon is an intergrated AMP/DAC? so you dont need a soundcard, you could run it via USB.
Which specific Icon model do you have?

The first icon, I am currently using it as a DAC, I was under the impression that a soundcard might improve the sound quality, if its not considerable I won't bother.

Soundcards are DAC's, so no point really.

Fair enough, thanks for clarifying that.

So I guess its around $400 for a sub, preferably under. Anyone got an recommendations/suggestions?
