dmN glockZors: Previously known as Team Sidewinder, tsw were easily the best NZ team, what has made you revert back to your old OGA roots and will you be entering the multi-gaming scene again?
(oga). monpepe: After the initial stages of BC2 (CG Beta and CGi Competition) we all felt we needed a break. This resulted in tsw taking a more casual approach to gaming and many of our players moving on to other games. With BF3 fast approaching and a team wanting to focus in one area of gaming we decided to go to a one-team approach. By reverting back to oga it enabled us to be more casual in the Hiatus between BF games, draw back old oga BF2 players and focus on one game that is a larger format. Nothing is stopping us going back to tsw but at the moment oga seems more fitting. Note - we still have our Halo Team competing under tsw tag.

dmN glockZors: What are your thoughts on what will make BF3 competitive and what format the community should support?
(oga). monpepe: I think it will come down to the first few weeks assessment ladder admins and team captains have of BF3 and determining what best fits the community. BF3 needs to have in game support such as recording options, ready up ability and an easier option to limit things like unlocks and round detail. I think (hope) most of these things will be in the finished game, so the main decision that needs to be made is team size.
We don't really know what map sizes BF3 will have yet so any decision on team size should be made after release (not during the Beta). Personally I am a fan of larger format that blends vehicles and infantry combat. Larger maps with multiple vehicles allows for a more dynamic experience IMO. I think CG should be looking at a format no smaller than 10 vs 10 and really hope they go larger. I find scrimming on larger maps a better experience because I like having multiple moving parts to coordinate. The issue for CG is server support for the bigger format so my pick will be either 10 vs 10 or 12 vs 12.

dmN glockZors: How are you preparing for BF3 and keeping the team motivated?
(oga). monpepe: We are not ramping things up too early. My main emphasis at the moment is for players to jump on vent and the pubs when they can and just get to know each other's play style. We still don't really know what BF3 will be like and I don't want to jump the gun by burning players out. The Beta period is not a priority for me and will be used as a period to get the team to gel and trial some new players. We have not sorted our team list yet and you will likely see other NZ players joining us from other game formats and teams in the future.

dmN glockZors: Who do you see as the game changers in your lineup, players who you can always rely on to perform?
(oga). monpepe: Well most BF players know Foolio and he is definitely a game changer. Foolio was our chopper pilot in BF2, but expect to see him in all roles. However if BF3 air combat suits him he has free reign. But it is some of our other vehicle players that may not be known. When in form I would rate Cripple as one of the best Jet pilots around and is very handy in Armour. Sheepshagger is also a strong player making a return to BF who can play all roles. There are other players making a return to BF and a few unnamed ones which should make things interesting. oga main emphasis though is relying on the teamwork to get us through. We may not be top in one area but working as a team helps us against the harder teams.

dmN glockZors: Who are your top 5 teams?
(oga). monpepe: Fvr - Strong lineup with some experienced BF players that have been brought together. I would place these guys (on paper) in the top two teams at the moment. However Luda may stay stuck in WoW and when called on to play he could tk the SL on rollout. Player to watch would be Firewizard and BoB. Also Luda in the choppa.
IM - The other team in my top two are these guys. Having aK, iM and other players I don't know of but are probably really good combine makes for a strong fighting force. The dedication and time they put into a BF game is crazy and I would expect them to be top contenders from the start. Player to watch is Redding. He directs his teams well and ensures they are well prepped. Other names I see there are amril and yellow who are good shooters.
Dmn - Another team made up of a bunch of players..err. They have a mix of old and new BF experience and will be a tough challenge. Their Captain Glock also provides good support to the community. I recognize a few names in their lineup from BF2 days and it will be good to scrim them again. Top players - Cookie, Akumah and chief.
Exile 5 - Yet to name their lineup but I expect them to be strong. It's a shame their NZ players cant be part of a NZ team to give our country more depth but the support exile 5 gives its players is great. I expect them to have a handy lineup that may reveal a few player selection surprises. Top player is Switchblade. I compare him to Foolio as a player who is strong in all areas of gameplay
IB - I am going for a dark horse pick. Someone has too. These guys were our scrim partners in 2142 and BF and I know they struggled with numbers and interest in BC2. But I am hoping that a return to BF3 and old players coming back will bring them back to glory days. Player to watch is Zeus.
Also Carnage.
