I recently recieved a coolmaster 750W psu and a VTX3D Radeon HD6950 1GB graphics card and i have been experiencing some problems. This is the first time ive installed my own parts and i dont know weather i have missed something or i have a faulty card. I installed the card and drivers (catalyst 11.8) the other night following the user manual. The graphics had issues where the screen would crackle/go fuzzy and would crash my computer to a blue screen. I re-installed the drivers and it worked great for a 6hr sesh of bfbc2 and portal 2. After turning my computer off i woke up the next morning and the crackling and fuzzyness was back and my computer crashed to a blue screen, i then uninstalled the card and reinstalled from scratch and the same problem happened, after doing this for a few hours and trying to find the problem i gave up and reinstalled my old card and it works fine.

I was wondering if i had missed anything, if i had a faulty card or there is something in my computer that doesnt like it and cause it to stop responding.

My computer parts include:
PSU: CoolerMaster GX 750W PSU
CPU: [AMD] Phenom II X4 955
Motherboard: Gigabyte MA770-US3
Monitor: LG 22`inch [LCD] (dont know exact model)
Ram: 4gb of some rand brand i cbf finding
i dont think anything else will matter.

Thanks for the help lads

Check to make sure hardware is properly installed, if problems continue disable or remove any newly installed hardware. Disabel BIOS memory opotions such as caching or shadowing, and if it helps at all:

Technical info says: stop:0x0000000116 blah blah, atikmpag.sys

Might be a bug with the latest drivers? Try using the 2nd latest drivers.

check your drivers go into to performance/ overdrive and make sure the clocks/ power is all default.
it wouldnt suprise me if the card is faulty though as in general the VTX3d have horrible build quality so it may have been damaged by the time it got to you.

also make sure your 6 pin connecters are fitted properly into your gpu aswell as mounted straight into your pci x16 slot.

and just out of luck try loading new bios onto your motherboard as it may be a compatibility issue

Just tested on mates pc, works fine. stumped as to where the problem is, i doubt its bios as it screw up as soon as the desktop is loading, my antivirus could be screwing it around or even a windows update.

We stress tested it with furmark and it ran fine, temperatures were good too. I'm pretty confident it's a windows/software problem.
