Yeah, increase your budget.

Quoted for the mother******* truth.

Either get just headphones, or ad to your limit.

$149 + $39 = $188 + shipping = $200.

Good headphones + sound card with headphone amp.

AD700s + Xonar DG

Xonar DG sucks massive testicles though. It's no better than on board.

TBH, I can't confirm. But from the reviews I've gotten from this card ... it rapes onboard.

Everything is better than on board.

24/192khz.... yer not good.... :/ (same as ST/ STX)

Its using a cirrus logic DAC there quite good chips, apposed to the BURR BROWN on the ST/STX.

The SNR is not as good as the ST/STX , but for $40 it will run the AD700's and sound 10x better than on-board.

I got one and had to replace it with a D1 instead. It's not worth it, because they'll make the ad700s sound kinda bad.

The card is engineered to have high bass, and no amount of EQ tweaking makes it sound right. Lower the bass and the thing just sounds flat, using the same headphones on a D1 and there's no comparison. Maybe it's placebo, and it does beat on board by a little, but it's still not a very good sounding card.
