All the reviews I have read rate the Asrock boards as good value for money.

Obviously wasn't including the shipping costs of returning a heap of doa boards.

I feel dirty every time I put an asrock mobo into a system.

Didn't have a big budget, no problem with my board so far, and it was cheap! ;D

I have a 2600k (obviously not a 2500k but in the same vain).

I have a Noctua DH-14 cooler and have my CPU OC'd to 4.3GHz.

I get around 25-30 degrees idle and about 50-55 when under full load.

Overclocking is very simple - if you're not sure what you're doing just look up a guide for your mobo/CPU and follow it.

Truthfully, the hardest part is probably installing the cooler as it can be a bit of a pain in the ass and fiddly.

tl;dr
I would highly suggest OC'ing the 2500/2600k but yes, you will need an aftermarket cooler if you're going in to 4.xGHz region.

And you dont need to pay for the price of the dh-14

Something like the AYWAN Radi V10 is fine.
costs $40 its a big good cooler that will do a 4.5-5ghz ocez

They're really not that tricky if you install the cooler BEFORE you mount the motherboard in the case guys

It shouldn't be overly fiddly, as I have a Storm Scout case, and from what it seems it's rather easy to just change out after the build is done anywho. c:

if you are silleh enough to be trying to fit the cooler with the mobo in the case you really shouldnt be touching in there.
