So yeah, basically an outline of what im looking at getting, please inform me of any glaring mistakes in this because im sure there are a few lol.

anyways this build is with 2 6970s which i will crossfire and a SSD
Image

here is the one with just a single 6970 and a 120 hz monitor
Image

can spend about $1.9K

ALREADY HAVE A 1TB HDD

EDIT: reason i've gone with AMD is because they do 6 cores very cheap compared to intel and I'll be doing alot of video rendering/editing (hence 16gb RAM)

can vouch that you wont really need 16gb of ram for editing, 8gb at most, but i suggest you invest in another TB hdd and raid0 the two hdd's and work off that, since performance will literally be twice as fast when working with movie stuff

build is ok.

Nothing wrong with AMD. the 990FX board will support the new Bulldozer chips when released which is a bonus. Two 6970's may be a waste. Depends on what res you plan to run most games with and also what games?

8GB RAM will suffice. Do you really need the Fractal XL case? That's a pretty big case for the gear you have. You can save yourself $70 with the Define R3.

Waiting for bulldozer and getting an 8 core could be beneficial, otherwise 2600k

This really is the best option. 6 cores = 6x bigger sucker for buying it.
