Fixed up the Making Threads area.



It is now compatible with the new Subsections.

Also added links to the Subsection Guide at the bottom.

Q. What is a subsection and how do they work?
A. A subsection is a sub-forum of the graphics forum. It is called a subsection because the graphic forum is a sub-forum - not a parent forum (Does not have it's own dedicated section on Cybergamer, we are in the Cybergamer Chat category). Attention All, new Signature size is 714x100 for Premium and 714x50 for Non Premium.

All threads in regards to signature size are to be removed straight away.

Premium Avatar Icons - 32x32 px
Portraits - 200x200 px
Team Logos - 200x200 px
Default Signatures - 714x50 px
Premium Signatures - 714x100 px

If you're having any troubles, or have any feedback on the rules, please chuck me a PM. They're a bit old now, so I'd expect a few things to be a bit out of place.

Just a reminder that excessive 'nice work' posts and parroting will result in a ban, generally a 7 day ban if you don't contribute to the graphics section. Repeat offenders will be looking at months for a ban. Designers should not have to be dealt with on this issue.

I don't want to have to ban anybody else, so take note of this. Do not argue with any of the moderators if you have been banned. If you don't contribute to this section or know anything about art or design in the first place, you shouldn't be posting in here in the first place, so a 7 day ban is light if anything.

On top of that, I'd like to encourage everybody to actually start taking CnC and improving on their pieces. Do not make a CNC thread if you plan on showcasing a piece. I have seen a lot of CnC being dealt out, and people not bothering to improve their piece after they've received the CnC they've asked for.

As for word on the graphics ladder, I'm sorry but it's still going to be down for a while, until bench, sno and I can sit down and sort things out. On the flip side, we might have a new type of competition which is a massive step up from SOTW, and a good stepping stone to prepare people for the graphics ladder. More information on that will be coming soon.

Hi guys, just another update.

We've recently noticed a lot of posts that are 'palming off' jobs to specific designers in request threads.

Most of you who are posting these do not contribute anything to the graphics section, apart from clogging up threads with these kinds of posts. This is however spam, and free advertising for the specific designer you are recommending.

I understand that it helps connect clients with designers, however it detracts from the appeal of the graphics forum. This forum isn't a white pages. It's for designers to do work themselves. You hunt for work, you showcase your work, and you discuss others work or general design topics. We encourage designers to hunt for jobs themselves, as it improves the activity and the reputation of the section.

Please understand that it is our job to improve the connectivity with clients and designers in the correct manner. This is not a free advertising space. Multiple palm off posts will simply result in a ban, and a hefty one at that if you are not a contributing member.
