Hey boys, I would love some recommendations for a good gaming and all round good PC, for fairly cheap, as I don't really have an idea of how much I need to pay.

I just want to run cod4 and cs at a competitive level.

You can pick up something decent for around $800 but you're better of spending around $1200.

A good gaming kb and mouse would be handy. I can find my own monitor that I like though.

Don't know how cheap you want to go but here is something that will run those games well. And it will be good enough for future games aswell.

Prices from PC Case Gear

CASE: Silverstone Precision Series PS05 Black       $59.00
HDD: Samsung SpinPoint F3 1TB HD103SJ.       $55.00
PSU: Strider Plus 600W ST60F-P       $99.00
OS: Microsoft Windows 7 Home Premium 64bit       $95.00
GPU: XFX Radeon HD6850 1GB.       $175.00
OD: ASUS DRW-24B3ST 24X DVDRW Drive       $25.00
RAM: Corsair CMX4GX3M2A1600C9 4GB (2x2GB) DDR3   $35.00
MOUSE: Razer DeathAdder Gaming Mouse V2.       $59.00
KB: Razer Lycosa Gaming Keyboard.       $89.00
CPU: Intel Core i5 2500K.       $219.00
MOBO: ASRock P67 Extreme6 Motherboard B3       $199.00

Sub-Total: $1109.00

You can go cheaper with an AM3 CPU and a corresponding Mobo.
Hope this helps.

Well that would be a good waste of $1100

shit mobo shit GPU and shit PSU

Do no listen to this guy...

Wait for Karma to post his recommendation but from personal experience I would try and stick with corsair power supply's, and keep my distance from the generic brands like ASrock and XFX

Intel Core i5 2500K $219
ASUS P8P67-M PRO Motherboard B3 $139
MSI GeForce GTX 560 Twin Frozr II Overclock $219
Corsair CML8GX3M2A1600C9W 8GB (2x4GB) Vengeance DDR3 $89
CoolerMaster CM Storm Scout $99
Corsair AX850 Gold Power Supply $245
Samsung SpinPoint F3 1TB HD103SJ $55
Razer BlackWidow Mechanical Keyboard $109
Logitech G500 Laser Gaming Mouse $65
Microsoft Windows 7 Home Premium 64bit $95
ASUS DRW-24B3ST 24X DVDRW Drive $25

- $1359

Thats my recommendation, Yes it costs a little more then the others but I will run alot better and be alot more reliable then the first 2 builds In my opinion... Also the keyboard and mouse are very personal things, I would see if you can try a few out, see what feels good to you before spending money on them, I buy all of my gear after lans, that way I can speak to other people at the lans about what they have, try some of it out and see it all work under pressure, there is no point spending money on a mouse that dosnt suit your hand or a keyboard that is too small for comfort ect....

Also why do people consistently try and skimp out on PSU's why would you get a cheap power supply when they are the most important part of your build?

Its just ******* stupid, in saying that I made that mistake with my first custom build, shit spontaneously combusted on me lost the whole pc then spent the next 6 months fighting to get the PSU manufacture to replace it(somehow they said it wasn't there fault that the psu caught on fire)

I've had the Thermaltake Litepower 700W for about a year or two now and have had no problems with it thus far. It has been flawless. That might just be my experience though.

My media server has a Thermaltake Evo blue PSU, Thermaltake and Antec don't make bad power supply's + they are both really well known company's with a reputation to uphold so if anything goes wrong chances are they will be good about it. Its more the generic brand shit thats like $90 for a 1100w one rail power supply that you should look out for.
