Two weeks ago, i got my phenom II X4 965 and installed it. It didnt come with drivers haha. I found out the speed of it by right clicking my computer and going to properties.
There has never been a need for CPU drivers. The CPU speed will show up the minute you start up the computer. And the motherboard will identify the CPU as soon as its put in the computer and powered on. cpu-z in my mind isn't 100 % accurate. I wouldn't rely on it too much. The only sure-fire way to get your CPU's Gigahertz measurement is in the bios. Obviously this wouldn't be "at the moment" measurement, seeing as the computer isn't under load, so therefore, cpu-z could come into play here.
