Daily i see one or more threads asking "What should i get if i want to spend ($$$$) on a PC?" and xfire requests on building a personal gaming rig for a set amount of $$$$.
I think its time to make a thread by todays standards of what to spend and what not to spend.
Firstly, for everyone that thinks the
i7-2600k is clearly better because its branded "i7", it is pretty much a
i5-2500k with hyper-threading and a higher stock clock of .2, if your heading that way for the "k" model that won't be much use for you seeing you are going straight to overclocking, so go ahead and save your self $100 and spend it on a good cooler for the overclocking your about to hammer. Some reasons you would get the
i7-2600k is for the hyper-threading which is great with movie making, photoshop.
Secondly, the below parts i am recommending are what i personally find the best. You can easily go ahead and shove it in my face and tell me im wrong. But im here to give people a broad guide-line on what's good and what isn't. Firstly, i'm going by 4GB ram, purely because i find 8GB pointless. Everyone is entitled to their own opinion.
If you were to spend the extra $200 to reach that $1,000 mark. I would simply throw in a
ASUS GTX 560 Ti DirectCU II Overclocked 1GB which then brings the sub-total to a full Sub-Total: $1050.00 for
AMD and a Sub-Total: $1070.00 for the
Intel build.
Then, if you were going to spend the extra $$$$ to around the $1,500 mark i would highly suggest getting two of the
ASUS GTX 560 Ti DirectCU II Overclocked 1GB if not just one
ASUS GeForce GTX 570 DirectCU II 1280MB and saving up some pocket money and getting another
ASUS GeForce GTX 570 DirectCU II 1280MB later on.
Hope i have helped a lot of you and hope you all stop to read this before thinking about making a thread or asking me about another PC.
One common thing i see a lot is people asking what to get, they get the help from countless amount of people and turn a blind eye and go with the opposite. Listen to people with experience not just what you think would be cooler to say.
Hope you took the time to read this and i hope you all take into consideration what i have said.
As stated above, if you think something could be better or wrong with my budgets, either xfire me or list it down below.
There is a lot of hyperlinks, makes everyones searching a lot easier just by clicking on it.
Thanks,
Josh "Soul"
