Perhaps you've used a rubbish model. My router has been awesome - never had a single problem with it.

Most of the problems people have with routers are pebkac and id10t problems.

draytek are by far one of the best, billions are not bad either.

just be careful you dont buy one that you have no idea how to tweak and/or setup

Had a billion 7800N and after about 6 months it just started to constantly disconnect every 20/30 minutes, chucked on an old modem and it worked fine.
