Alright, so I have been trying to render the same 1 minute clip for about three days now. I either get the "low memory error" message or Vegas just stops responding altogether. I have tried all these so called "fixes" and nothing is working. Any help is appreciated

haha if its the problem im thinking of, i had it to. try this if you havnt...

have your video ready to render,
then open up a 2nd copy of vegas,
in the new vegas opened select start new project,
go back to the old one and hit ctrl + A to highlight all,
then copy and paste into the new one,
render using the same options as you wanted.

worked for me.

Quote from SpotTheOzzie:
Dynamic Ram Preview default is ~ 850mb depending on the Vegas version you are using.

What is happening when you render is that it buffers to that amount and having nothing left to use decides to kill itself off.

Tools > Preferences > Video (TAB)

Personally I use 4000 MB allocated because I have 8 GB of ram, I could just as easily used 6 GB or 7 GB but a rule of thumb in rendering generally is to use half of your blocks (especially since it's only your preview box). Using 0 is the alternative if your computer is really laggy.
