Hey guys,
A couple of weeks ago I started a thread about buying a PC. It was a PC that the school was bulk buying and we were going to build it together. I was told it wasn't that good so I decided not to buy it. My friends is trying to sell me his PC and I am not quite sure again. He is selling for around $650 to $750. The specs are

i5, 4gig of ram, 500 hdd, ati 5770 1gig, p7p55d le motherboard, dvd burner, soundblaster 5.1 sound card, 660watt power supply

If you can help that would be great.

The price isn't that bad for what he is offering but that system is fairly dated at the same time. It really depends on what you want out of your system. That system should have no problems playing games that are currently out but that system is far from future proof. If it was me I'd probly look at a new rig rather than something second hand, only because that system's mobo/cpu (while still ok) have been phased out already by the new sandy bridge stuff. Plus I'm pretty sure all the socket 1155 mobo's will be able to take the new "Ivy Bridge" CPU's with a BIOS upgrade whenever they come out.

You need to be more specific on parts for anyone to add critical input.

Don't buy it. It is a bad system and you can buy a better new one for only 800.

I can't be much clearer - BUYING THAT COMPUTER IS A BAD IDEA.

Here's why:

New generation i5, much better graphics card, double the hard drive space, reliable power supply and only what, $11 dearer?

You would have to be completely ******* ******ed to buy that second hand piece of shit when you can pay $11 more and get TWICE THE SYSTEM PERFORMANCE.

Well when you do want to actually buy one search through the recent PC build threads in the PC section of the forums first, so you have an idea of what you want.
