just to help start off

I like intel - faster who cares about the money
i like nvidia - better drivers, more power, better scaling in sli, blah blah
i like silverstone/corsair psu's - good value esp silverstone, internals by seasonic without the price tag, most are full modular
i like corsair for ram and ssd's - ram is second to non, always has been, ssd's are brilliant, not overpriced and they dont block thing on them like OCZ etc do (eg: intel rst driver)
i like asus for mobo and vga - pretty much no competition for them atm


thats should fire up the trolls

A lot of Gigabyte boards have a heatsink right infront of PCIEX1_1 which makes the slot useless.
