Current Specs:

CPU - Q6600 2.4ghz
GPU - 8800GTS 320mb
Mobo - Gigabyte P35 DS3
Ram - 4gb ram
PSU - some 600w
HDD -160gb + 320gb

I want to be able to play BF3 with high graphic settings.

Was thinking;
a newer Gigabyte mobo,
i5/i7,
8gb ram,
maybe a 570GTX.

BUT, im not brand loyal so whatever is better i'll buy.

also considering getting a 60gb SSD dedicated to running windows..

would it be worth it to upgrade or just buy a new rig?
what parts should i get? im going for the best 'bang for buck'
will my PSU be powerful enough to run it all?
is extra cooling worth it for overclocking potential?

want to spend <$1000 including a new LED monitor.
(also recommendations on monitor please, 24" or maybe a bit bigger depending on price)

cant think of any other info i might have missed.

Thanks in advance for the advice

saying some 600w doesnt help... cheaper brands "forget" to tell you that the 600W is peak power not continuos.

Intel Core i5 2500K $219.00
There is no difference between this and the i72600K when it comes to gaming. oc to 4.5ghz. GG
AYWAN RADI V10 $39
one of the best coolers i have ever used. preforms aswell as the more expensive air coolers
Corsair Vengeance CMZ8GX3M2A1600C9 8GB (2x4GB) DDR3 $69.00
Good ram
ASUS P8Z68-V Motherboard B3 $199.00
ASUS motherboads are better than gigbyte. I link this mobo to everyone for every budget
Silverstone Strider Plus 600W ST60F-P $99.00
600w continuous 80+certification. silverstone<corsair<seasonic are the only psu's you should buy. silverstone are best value for money
ASUS GeForce GTX 560Ti DirectCU II TOP 1GB $279.00
You cant fit a 570 into your budget. This is the best 560ti on the market.. its a great card
AOC 2434PW 23.6in Widescreen LCD Monitor $199.00
I linked this one because i couldnt find the actual monitor i was looking for. same brand and price tho
the one i tried to find was (AOC RAZOR 23.6 LED) its the same but LED backlit

near enough $1100. If you dont have to get a new psu then its 1k

ssd's give faster loading times.
Some people think they are worth it, some dont.

id say get one if you dont mind spending the $130 on top of your budget
I wouldn't be sacrificing anything in your budget for one though.

oh and jailbait man.. jailbait.

Who has experience with asus screens? 50million :1 contrast with 2ms (g2g) response!

wtf does the 'gray to gray' bit mean?

asus screens are fine, i tend to lean towards AOC for the same spec at a cheaper price.

ASUS make good stuff, the new Dell 2412M is also a good monitor

G2G (Grey To Grey) is how long it takes for a pixel to go from Grey To full bright white back to grey.

Good monitors should show Black to black timings as this is a more accurate way of recording response time.
