Sandy Bridge i5 2500k can be OC'd to 4.5-5 GHz pretty comfortably depending on what air cooler you get, you can't get that much of a dramatic increase out of the AMD chips. Also, 6-cores =/= better for games; 4 faster cores would probably be better 99% of the time. They are cheaper, yes, and perform well for their price, but that doesn't mean they are 'better for gaming'.
