So im thinking of building my own rig.

I decided to look for some ram and this ones caught my eye

www.pccasegear.com/index.php?main...s_id=17627

but then it said
Qualified motherboard.
EVGA
X58-CLASSIFIED 4-WAY SLI

I already had planned to get this http://www.evga.com/products/moreInfo.as...oards&sw=5

but it said 4-way sli... Im kinda confused is this the same motherboard? Because if it isn't i couldn't find the x58-classified 4-way sli anywhere..

Also if you have any other suggestions on what type of motherboard + ram i should get would be great.

Im thinking of building my own gaming rig just letting ya know

you realise x58 (first generation i7 socket) is old right?

Get a 2500k and a mid range 1155 socket motherboard (Sandy Bridge Socket).

Use the search feature on this website, im pretty sure you can find some productive custom pc build threads.
END RANT.

Look mate, the 4-way SLi EVGA classified motherboard you are after isn't in production anymore. Let's be realistic here, if you are going to buy 4 mid range graphic cards, then you'd be classified as an idiot.
1 beast of a card is better than 2 mid range cards, because of how it scales in different programs with different architectures.
Now if you were to buy 4 top end cards, then you can talk about looking for something similar to this.
As stated above, Nehalem microarchitecture is a wee bit old, and I support the thought of the i5 2500k + P67/Z68 motherboard, unless you want to wait for the X79 to be established.
Both Asus and Gigabyte make really decent boards. What it comes down to are those extra features that the board can provide.
The RAM you listed up there is also Triple Channel, and I advise you to go Dual Channel with the above recommendation. While you are on the PCCG
website, click on Memory > Al DDR3 Memory > Dual Channel Kits.
Most of the brands listed here are reputable, so now you'd want to look for the clock rate as well as the latency if you want to overclock your computer, otherwise, standard DDR3 memory clocked at 1333MHz should be fine.
Oh yeah, and if you aren't even going to overclock at all, then you might as well drop the i5 2500k to just the standard i5 2500. But overclocking is easy, and you should notice a performance, even when you overclock with a stock cooler. If you need help on overclocking, I'm sure a decent google search will give you some handy links and tips.
All the best.
