I've tried to forward my CoD4 port (28960) because of some lag issue i've been getting lately. I'm pretty sure i know how to do it, but just to be sure i decided to follow the guide for my specific router (Netgear WGCR61v9) on www.portforward.com and i noticed at the bottom they had a program that would allow me to check whether or not i had forwarded this specific port. Downloaded, installed and it says that the port isn't forwarded.

I have absolutely no idea what i did wrong, i followed the guide word for word, i even went through it again a couple times to make sure that i didn't make any silly mistakes. I've forwarded ports in the past with other routers similar to this one and it's worked fine.

Any ideas?

just use the program from the site to do the portforwarding then?

Don't you have to pay for it?

thats what i thought when i used it, but when i click on my router, down the bottom middle of screen should be a download button, all that other crap of 29.95 is something else i think (advertisement)

oh and when i installed it, it did come up with if i wanted to register it, i just clicked no/cancel and it worked i believe

try www.canyouseeme.org think that is more reliable, Are you certain you did it correctly? did you put in the correct details for each of its necessary boxes?

Well, from what i've been told it's either what you said or call up my ISP lol.

I will definately give it a shot before i call those assholes up...

how was the first way u tried it, manually through ur router?
