Hey guys, i was mounting the ISO for windows 8 on to my usb when i noticed the setup is already mounted and i can easily run it on my Windows 7 desktop.

Through the installation process, will it ask me which partition i want to install it on? (I have an 70GB partition set aside for Windows 8)

I do want to run the setup, but i don't want to lose anything i have on my Windows 7 partition. Thanks.

Edit: I have double clicked it and it does ask me if i would like to install the Developer Preview, but i haven't gone further due to not knowing if i would lose anything.

You can still access the start bar by switching to "classic mode" or sumthin'.. MS are using their metro interface for touchscreen displays (e.g. HP touchsmart pc's) and tablet devices.

Im predicting alternate releases.

Win8 will be tablet
Win9 will be desktop
Win10.. tablet

etc etc you get the idea.

There is no way in hell enterprise will adopt an OS like Windows 8. Most are still using WinXP as Vista and Win7 were considered too radical and would confuse end users etc.

MS cant afford to drop enterprise volume licensing sales.

pretty sure u wont loose anything unless you opt to format your drive... if you install it ontop you should just get the choice to boot up between win7 and win8 when you turn on the pc...

I wish it was the same for me.
2 Wireless adapters didn't work for me, and same with skype. I couldn't take the risk of having any more programs not working for me so I just switched back to seven

Also my computer would freeze every time my mouse touched the left hand side of the screen.
wtf windows 8

I wouldn't recommend running the installer from within Windows 7 if I was you. Sure it should work, but I know several people who've had troubles doing so.
Find a shit computer, and install it properly off of disc/usb on startup.
