6950 is good, you wont be able to fit GTX570 into budget.
The board supports XFIRE so its fine, dont worry about changing.
and if you want to XFIRE eventually maybe spend the extra $35 and grab a 750W PSU so that you have the headroom. Other then that everything is great.

also he didnt put in an Nvidia card, so why would he want SLI?

assuming he went with the 570 as suggested. Generally if a board can't SLI then it cant crossfire. Some exceptions though.

is that graphics card good? like haven't really found a lot about it but the 6950 is sufficient for bf3 etc so some benchmarks say.

The GTX570 is a great card, i currently have 1 in my PC, but because of your budget i would only suggest the 6950 because it will fit in your budget and is easily upgradable in your system because you can just add a 2nd 6950 quite easily.

Go for an i5 2400, cheaper motherboard, 600w power supply, then you can easily get a gtx 570 and save a bit of money you dont need to spend, as without a cooler i assume you're not even overclocking.
