Go for an i5 2400, cheaper motherboard, 600w power supply, then you can easily get a gtx 570 and save a bit of money you dont need to spend, as without a cooler i assume you're not even overclocking.
why would he do that? good input mate.
why drop down cpu and mobo so that he has a system that is harder to upgrade later?
seems like a bit of a waste. not able to sli later, and a cheaper 600W psu would have a shit rating and probs peak at 550W. which would be the minimum for his system. and if he tried overclocking later the whole thing would die.
Good input. gtfo.

I don't see the harm dropping down to an i5 2400, as those chips are fairly easy to get to 3.8GHz, and most people out there with unlocked core ratios don't even overclock.
There's not much that can be upgraded I suppose, as we are going PCI-e 3.0 with X79 with different sockets. You know how fast technology changes, sometimes they change as often as Apple.

600w = 13 bucks cheaper, sufficient
i5 2400 = great cpu, little bit cheaper
<$100 MoBo = save money and does the job, no SLI, but his budget is 800 bucks, not "$SLI"
The ram is fine - I mean you could go cheaper but only by like 10 bucks
gtx 570 = better than 6950, quite simply

Overclock for epeen or save 200 bucks?
I gave an option that nobody else had suggested in saving money and still getting a beast upgrade, and Jereonnn is just sour cause I called him an idiot and he can't deny it without looking desperate.

Umm what?
All im trying to say is your options, sure they give him a gtx570 straight away. but there is no upgrade path, if he ever wanted to do anything he would need to but a new mobo with a new psu to do any upgrades.
Its smarter to make it easier to upgrade later on down the track and still be within the budget.

besides why attack me? haha. if you go back on page you see that Obez had a shot aswell. nothing to him. and like i said with no quoting or anything in there it was based at anyones previous remarks.
All i was trying to do above was say how as much as you drop all components down so get some that are better, you're really cutting yourself short with a possibly unreliable PSU (might pop) and harder to upgrade system.
