What this means is;

for a new player OR people who have recently re installed ET you cannot join GA7 or any PB servers AS you need a ETCDKEY. AS the the pb server is discontinued you cannot simple type in the command /pb_Cdkeyreg

PB will lag you every 3 seconds - the fix back in the day was to simply update PB. You obviously cannot do this now.

What you can do is get a friend with a working game of ET (with no lag issues) and get them to send you their entire PB folder. Copy your PB folder and paste it to a safe location. Paste their pb folder into your ET directory. This will fix any LAG issues you are having. If you want to play on GA7 you need a valid CDKEY, the best way to do this is, is to get someones old etcdkey OR use this website http://etkey.org/ (i haven't tested) and follow their instructions. It will generate a ETKEY for you and i'm guessing you drag and drop it into your et/main folder.

This is an issue that needs to be fixed quickly

IMO pb should be dropped all together and if you see anyone hacking in pub just report it on the forums and get them banned via the Cybergamer system.

Yeah this may has well of just killed ET.

Still don't understand how it's discontinued, and what's the point of it, if you just need to generate a key? pointless.

PB have stopped giving it support and stopped it's master servers. Which when new players enable punkbuster, or you type /pb_cdkeyreg would automaticly generate a etkey. Now that it's gone new players wont be able to have etkey which is necessary to join PB enabled servers. & Most server admins want you to have a GUID. So your identifiable.
