Why hello there forum browsers,

I currently have an 8800GTX, and want a bit more beef for BF3, what is the best card i can buy that will still be compatible with my motherboard?

mobo - gigabyte DS3

Your only limiting feature will be your PSU. Even the 8800 GTX used PCI-E (16x) which is what all of the current generation also use. So in other words your mobo will be able to handle any of the new GFX cards on the market. The only down side is the new cards will be much more power hungry than your 8800 GTX. From memory the 8800 only used 1 6-pin power connector whereas say a GTX570 will required two 6-pin or in some cases a 6 and an 8-pin

Better off with a new PC, your old thread says you have a Q6600, 8800, 'Some' 600W PSU and an old 775 socket motherboard.

i have a build just like his only with an e8400 runs bf3 "well" come this weekend and a 6950 is going into it to continue soldiering on.

thanks all, now i have a battleplan, buy 560ti with this months pay (plus holiday) and next month i can afford the rest of the pc! HUZZAH CG SAVES THE DAY

A friend has a 560TI in his old q6600@3ghz and gets 40fps+ on Medium settings apparently.
