There's more to the $10 Guardian Cub pet than first meets the eye. Whereas most WoW pets are classed as BoA items (Bind on Account), the Guardian Cub pet is classed as a BoE (Bind on Equip) item. That means you can buy a set of Guardian Cubs even if you have no intention on activating them for personal use in-game.

After purchasing the furry little bugger, there'll be a brief cooldown period before you can sell them on, but you'll eventually be able to trade them with whoever you like for in-game currency. You're free to pack your inventory with the little critters too, though they will take up one inventory slot each (fatties). You'll need a separate cub for each character on your account too, unlike old-school pets – who are tied to accounts, not individual characters.

Well thy have done the smart thing. This is the way to get rid of gold sellers

This was already in game AAAGES ago though. The TGC give BoE mounts

TCG doesn't give a hundred percent chance of getting a WoW game item in each pack...

That's why it wasn't effective.

But what it did give was worth a decent amount of gold

This pet is going to be worth nothing, and it definitely wont solve the gold selling market problem
