Tt eSPORTS Mousepad Review
Dasher & Conkor Mousepads
Over the past couple of weeks, I have been testing and reviewing the Dasher and Conkor, two mousepads from the Tt eSPORTS range. After receiving these two mousepads, they made a nice addition to my decently sized mousepad collection. Since my commencement to gaming I have used (and own) the following pads:
• Razer Goliathus (Control)
• Razer Goliathus (Speed)
• Steelseries QcK+
• Xtrac Ripper XL
And now:
• Tt Dasher
• Tt Conkor
Whilst I may not have vast experience with mousepads, I certainly have a basis of comparison to put these two mousepads up against. For these reviews I also got third person views as I let gamers use them at the recent Red Carpet Gaming call of duty 4 lan.
Dasher
The dasher is a smoother mat, similar to the Goliathus Speed, QcK+ and Ripper XL. Whilst at Brisbane's Red Carpet Gaming Lan, Daniel "DANNN" Hunting used this mousepad for the duration of the event which I will go into later.
The general specifications of the mousepad are as follows:
•Dimensions (LxWxH): 400x 320x 4mm
•Cloth Weave Material Surface with Rubber Base, ensuring Mouse Pad Stays in Place.
•Enlarged-Size Design, Ideal for MMORPG Game Genre's Demands in Rapid Control and Movement.
•Perfect Match with Tt eSPORTS BLACK or BLACK Element mouse.
One of my favourite things with Tt eSPORTS products is the unboxing as their packaging and attention to detail is so elegantly done. The dasher mousepad comes in a small box, which holds the main contents. Inside the box is a pouch (That you can use to store and preserve the pad) which holds the mousepad itself , wrapped up with a Tt branded tie, keeping everything together and stylish. The packaging finished off with smaller paper documents within the box.
The mousepad consists of three colours, black, red and white. The shape is similar to most, with square sides however the top left hand corner has a curved edge making it stand out, and be that bit different from every other mousepad.
In regards to general usage, it is extremely pleasant to move your hand across, whilst at the same time being plush enough to keep your wrist comfortable.
As previously stated, Dann used this mousepad for the duration of the lan event we attended. Once we had concluded the event I briefly spoke to him regarding the mousepad and he claims that he thoroughly enjoyed using it for the day, and was grateful he had the chance to use it.
The one letdown about this pad is that the edges don't have much lining that would keep them from fraying; however most mousepads these days are like this so I guess it isn't a large drawback. Apart from the edges the overall quality is great and it feels smooth to run your mouse over.
In conclusion I would say the Tt eSPORTS Dasher has potential to be a reputable mousepad, and already is taking off in the esports market. Every gamer needs a quality mousepad to complete their gaming arsenal and I would highly recommend this pad, it will provide you with the precise aim and speed needed to outplay your opponent.
Conkor
The Conkor is the more hardened on the two mousepads, essentially the "control" version. My reviewing has been more heavily on this pad, as it seems to have taken my fancy of the two. In the last month I have had this pad, it has been used by some gaming greats, such as Ian "Ian" Calligeros.
Upon unboxing, similar to the Dasher, attention to detail is second to none with the mousepad coming tied up nicely in a Tt branded tie inside the mousepad soft cover. As well as this comes the brochure which can be seen above.
Specifications:
• Dimension (LxWxH): 400x 320x 4mm
• Cloth Weave Material Surface with Rubber Base, ensuring Mouse Pad Stays in Place.
• Enlarged-Size Design, Ideal for FPS Game Genre's Demands in Accuracy and Precision.
• Perfect Match with Tt eSPORTS AZURUES or AZURUES mini mouse.
One thing I would like to give a mention to is the cool design on the surface. As you can see in the image, the bottom left and top right hand corners consist of Thermaltake logos, however inside this you see the red and white border, which enclose an aimer, similar to the one you are used to seeing in FPS games. Whilst the design doesn't prove to be a game changer, it does make the pad more aesthetically pleasing.
Next in line to use this weapon was Ian "Ian" Calligeros who currently plays call of duty 4 for Qlimax Crew. Whilst I didn't manage to find an image of him using it, he had nothing but good words to say about it after usage.
The drawbacks are similar to that of the dasher, with the edges being rather easy to fray, especially If you are maximizing your mousepad usage. Apart from this minor setback, there is nothing major that would turn you away from this particular item.
All in all, between the two mousepads I would say the Tt eSPORTS has done a great job for their first two releases and they are definitely revolutionising the peripheral market. Between the two my fancy was the Conkor, however this choice is just down to personal preference so I can only recommend that you definitely try at least one of these two pads! It was a pleasure to be able to review these two items, and I look forward to what Tt eSPORTS have to offer in the future.
