Considering it would be 16Gig RAM for $80 it will be fine, my mate has the exact ram and it runs fine. However of cause this was just a first preference.

Ram is horrible and drive is a 5400RPM drive (storage drive not a OS/Games drive). PSU i would change for a corsair/seasonic (basically the same anyway).

There is more to ram than the amount of it. latency is paramount!

Is it compatible with other parts?

"Designed For 2nd Generation Intel® Core™ Processors"

As you can tell I am a n00b when it comes to computer hardware...

Other then the RAM is everything else okay?

I don't know how important storage is to you, your OS and games want to be on something decent though. If you up for it maybe a SSD and then the drive you mentioned for storage. The rams not the cheapest at that performance, though corsair warranty on their ram is awesome and should be considered.

Make sure the HDD you get is at least 7200RPM, the ram should be 1600C8 at the maximum and the PSU wants to be around the 650-850 mark from a decent PSU brand like corsair/seasonic/enermax (antec PSU are very hit and miss)

As long as you do that you will be fine, truthfully the original would be OK, but why settle for OK when you can settle for awesome
