You'd think that there would be private servers in place for this Virgin Tournament, however there is talk that you can purchase your own private servers. Or will be able to. Many of the petitions Ive seen that have started outta US for xbox have mentioned this.

I thought they might have grabbed that info from a PC source as Im not sure how they would manage this through XBL a managed service and then extract payment? What? do you pay in MS points?

The other rumour I have heard from a tester was that Battlelogs interferes with Private Servers somehow? But was unable to contact him from his post to understand in more detail, or indeed if he was talking consoles.

well the new xbox live update on the 6th incorporates paypal so maybe you can pay for servers through that. or maybe they are going to set up a server just for the competition in which you have to get a code to be eligible to unlock and compete in. And also a new update is coming for bf3 in a day or two from what i have heard and the update is stuff for lag and server issues, improved assualt rifle handling, the mangum pistol having increased damage, more damage for the helicopter mini gun against vehicles and a few little patches here and there.

Yeah agreed thats what im saying.....could be they have them available but not in the capacity we are used to or expecting, so for sites that are going to pay for them no issues. However that would affect scrim etc clans with sponsorship like the one im with in the US are already talking about purchasing their own - so until we have direct confirmation we aren't any wiser other than Jip saying they have been confirmed. Either way it shouldn't affect this Virgin competition in any capacity as its a pay to play tournament anyways....which would cover server costs.

Yes Twitch posted a BF3 for xbox360 patch/update thread yesterday

Yeah LBS is putting in a team - trying to get practice from other teams though here in Australia is very difficult however currently.
