I was downloading bf3 through origin, and at around 70% i had to restart my PC, when I turned it back on the download bar was at 3% saying it had already downloaded 200 megs, when the game folder on my PC has over 7 gigs of files in it. what the shit? any chance I can some how resume it where it left off before the restart? or is it actually downloading where it left off the download bar is just dodgy? or do i just have to let it redownload the whole game again?

as i actually wanted to play this game before I left for work

Hmm well if the game files are still there then maybe it wont redownload those files again. Try right clicking Battlefield 3 in origin and see if there's anything like repair install or update or something like that. If not then you might just have to leave it and hopefully it will sort it self out.

Happens to me on Steam, don't worry, when it gets up to 5GB it will probably stop. The progress bar has reset, not the download

When I was pre-loading I had 3 attempts at downloading the game. First time I came back to find origin was no longer even running and the second my connection dropped for 20 seconds half way through.
It restarted from 0% each time, so unless they've done some serious upgrades to their pathetic mandatory program I think you may have to start from scratch
