I downloaded bf3 through origin, When I launched it, it did the release date check. And then launched battle log. When I clicked join a server, start co op, or SP . It says origin is launching the game , after 5 seconds. That disappears and nothing happens . In the task manager bf3.exe appears when I click on it , but disappears when the origin window does.

I had no problem with running the beta.

My system specs are

Ati 5870
I7 26000
4 gig of 20k dominator ram
P8z68 v pro

I googled the error and seemed common but I couldn't find a solution.

Regards

JC

yes i have.
i just found this :
1) Goto the folder where Origin installed BF3 (C:\Program Files (x86)\Battlefield 3\ Battlefield 3&trade (thats where mine was installed)

2) Rename the Battlefield 3™ folder to Battlefield 3 - (removing &trade

3)Start regedit , browse to the following key :

HKEY LOCAL MACHINE\SOFTWARE\WoW6432Node\EA Games
Change the GDFBinary & InstallDir paths to C:\Program Files (x86)\Battlefield 3\ Battlefield 3 - again removing ™

and it will launch fine

Note: when you rename the folder and edit the registry You have to make sure Origin is not running,

just noticed an ea dev posted this in a forum

Have you tried disabling Origin In Game overlay?

Here's how to turn it off:

1. Exit any game processes that are running.
2. In Origin, go to the Options button (Cog wheel) and select Settings.
3. Click the In Game tab.
4. Uncheck the option marked "Enable Origin In Game".

looks promising, i must try it after work tonight

and that post from ea... does not work because my game folder+registry dont have the TM simbol.
