What do I bring?
This is a BYOC event. While we will have things like power boards and network cables available at the event, it's always better to be on the safe side and pack everything you need to get on the network. My suggestion would be to pack your own of everything required for your PC to run, just in case. Speakers are not permitted and it's preferable if you only bring one monitor.
What does the cost cover?
The price of entry includes internet access, hall hire and food and drink for the weekend. Reasonable lunches and dinners will be provided as well as soft drinks and other cold beverages (non-alcoholic). Strict rules will apply with regards to alcohol, however provided they are adhered to everyone should be free to get a bit merry.
Where can I get accommodation?
Being in the heart of Broadbeach there's no shortage of accommodation available. Feel free to contact me for suggestions, otherwise searching online for Broadbeach accommodation will give you plenty of options to choose from. There are two 24 hour cab ranks in Broadbeach, meaning you will be waiting merely minutes for your <$10 cab fare to and from the venue.
What else is there to do?
The community centre's doors will be locked at 11pm each night and open again at 9am in the morning. You are free to pack up your PC gear and take it with you if you so desire, however the doors will be remaining locked for the entirity of each evening and your gear will be safe if you choose to stay set up for the weekend.
Broadbeach has plenty to do. Straight across the road from the community centre is Pacific Fair Shopping Centre, which is flanked by Dracula's Cabaret Restaurant. Just over the c*****is Conrad Jupiters Hotel and Casino, and on the opposite side of the highway is the Oasis Shopping Centre and all of Broadbeach's nightlife, backing on to one of the most beautiful beaches in the world.
Pack your sunnies... it's gonna be a BIG weekend 8-)
