It's great fun, I'm really enjoying my key. There's no Aus servers but the game still handles itself remarkably well with 200ms.

Having played through every CS beta there has ever been, I can definitely say there's potential in this game - I think it's going to help alot that 1.6/CSS pros are collaborating with Valve.

Nice Review Ponco...

i applied ages ago, i don't think ima be getting a key for myself..
although there are no AUS servers it would still be great to get a tiny taste before the release..
I have played CS since 1999 i started when 1.1 became 1.2 im pretty sure i was young (11 years old)
at 22 now and seeing the progress from then - 1.6 - source - CS:GO i myself have not lost interest in the game and dont think i EVER will..

but stuff like how u felt like u were getting accelerated etc isnt a part of old CS' as u said,
that would be one thing to make me move back to say 1.6/source..

did it feel like CoD at all? the movement?
and if not i presume the feel is more like TeamFortress if anything?

all in all im keen for this to be the new competetive online game in AUS

The current moment looks like the scout running even has the same shotgun movement back and forth

Yes, my contact as Valve said that the first stage of the closed beta is to test the servers... they are currently running @ valve in the US (Maybe off a partner of valve). Preparing and tweaking them to be available to third party server providers.

Even though the ping is rather high, we still had some pretty good gameplay.

It felt like CoD MW promod to an extent, but the movement is nothing like CoD imo, mainly because you can't sprint or do ******ed acrobatics (incl. prone). But some of the guns did feel...ahh, its kinda hard to explain. But yes, in some respects, just not the movement.

but yes, it looks and feels like TF2 a little
