Sounds reasonable to me?

Why couldn't it be that?

If he tried a diff cable, and a diff monitor, both in the onboard gfx, and in his gfx card, it could definately be a motherboard problem.

i actually dont, mum owns 2 macs. **** my life. and mum is out at work and i also have no money. doesnt really matter anyways cos i think its a motherboard issue

If the video card stopped working all together then the on board video it could be either motherboard or psu.

had a problem with 1 of my monitors dying, was because i updated to newest beta Nvidia drivers, if you just did update could be that.

yeah, same thing happened with mine, main monitor wouldnt show anything, was all transferred to my 2nd monitor, reverted my drivers back and it was fine. i think Nvidia drivers were 290.XX
