Frenetic Array v How To Lose
hTL didn't surprise last week, bringing out poor drafts and worse play to get put in 2:0 by MindFreak. They're likely to remain on hard times until they hit up Crux crew in week 4 which might throw them a cheeky win based on their performance against AG.
Fray were in heavy struggle town last week against 1day, narrowly avoiding a second round loss thanks to some big throws from 1day's legionnaire. While fray may have taken 1day lightly (running Parasite+Ophelia) in a move reminiscent of their shock loss to Qlimax last season, they should straighten up and take the competition more seriously in the coming matches. Luckily, though, they shouldn't have to try too hard against hTL.
Prediction: 2:0 Fray

Sequential Gaming v Crux Crew
SQL have a delicious run this season (assuming AG doesn't surprise them), not facing fray until the last week. Recent inconsistencies seem to have been ironed out with the pickup of ElusiveLY and the return to more player-specific picks. Last week SQL brought a strong performance against iPlay, taking out game 1 in 22 minutes, and game 2 in a forfeit victory (their net cafe kept crashing their clients). While SQL are known for losing scrims to bads all the time, expect them to be on their game this season as they usually are in official matches.
Crux Crew again disappointed me and performed worse than I had expected (contenders to take the big brown dumpster award off 1day?). They were completely outclassed last week by AG in two apocalyptic dumpsterings for the ages. Next week's match against 1day is going to be for sure the match to watch, because if xCRU lose to them there will be some mad embrass all around.
Prediction: 2:0 Sequential

Iplay v One Day Team 1
1day actually impressed me in their match against fray (despite the fact that fray threw hardcore with picks). The acquisition of Kvx is a great boon for them, as his carry play is not to be underestimated. I'm interested to see more results come out of the boys from 1day, who I am sure are all praying that iLy doesn't ban Tremble.
iPlay kind of played shitty against SQL last week (although it might have been lag) after a big scrim series in the week where they threw them in 2-0. Hopefully the CGo runners-up can sort out their issues and get in form, as they definitely have the potential to catch some teams off guard and deliver decisive victories. I am looking forward to seeing a ctulu-ds and a gladiator-glacius do work.
Prediction: 2:1 iPlay
MATCH TO WATCH

Avant Garde v Mindfreak.Razer
Avant Garde is a decent team whose recent lineup shuffle has left me wondering whether or not they have ended up better or worse than before. Subbing out support players KingMagmus and ElusiveLY for carry players DoomDriver (Coonatic) and Sico has left them with what seems to be a team full of self-focused farm-oriented players without a lot of team awareness. While they by all means have the individual skill necessary to outclass many of the teams in the league, as demonstrated in last week's crushing of Crux Crew, their relatively new lineup and its odd role composition will have them struggling against teams with more experience.
Mindfreak is the favourite to take out second place this season. The cutting of the chaff (TDA101 and pikaCHUANG) and the adding of some wheat (NoFriends) has consolidated the lineup and should ensure some strong victories. Starting with their dumpstering of hTL in round 1, Mindfreak are set to face little challenge until their matches against fray and SQL. While AG v Mindfreak will probably be interesting, MF have the better players, experience and strategy to take the series out with few issues.
Prediction: 2:0 Mindfreak
