CyberGamer Community Nationals 2012.
Hi all, we are pleased to announce that we will be kicking in to provide a Community Nationals for CounterStrike Source in January 2012. What we are going to do is run the tournament with 2 elements, there will be an open competition on Saturday and then on Sunday we will hold a pro level invite tournament. The event will be run from the Elysium Lan Centre which is at this address: First Floor 279 - 281 Brunswick Street Mall, Fortitude Valley Brisbane, Australia, 4006
On Saturday 10 teams will compete in a round robin tournament sponsored by Razer where the winner and runner up will receive fantastic prizes (listed below) and also gain a berth in the Sunday pro tournament. On Sunday the 2 top teams from the open tournament will meet with 6 invited professional teams to compete in an 8 team round robin tournament for sweet cash prizes courtesy of Western Digital and Kingston Technology.
This will be a community nationals, so it will be open to anyone who wishes to participate, at the moment the open competition is set to 10 teams but we may expand this further to allow more teams to get involved! All players will be required to pay a $25 entry fee where the proceeds of this go into the venue hire and the remainder into the prize pool. Note that if more than 16 attend the nationals the prize pool will increase accordingly and if less than 16 attend the prize pool would decrease accordingly as well.
Please all competitors make yourself available to IOF on either day as he will be coming in for Anexias to make a community movie from the event.

SPOILER: General Tournament Information and Rules
Teams must pay their $25 per player registration fee before commencing matches, each player must identify themselves to staff and make payment before playing. Staff can be identified as the people wearing WD Velociraptor t-shirts and they will also have Kingston HyperX lanyards with ID tags around their neck. Please consult the officials list and ensure you are making payment to an official before handing over any money on the day. Payments are made to event officials at the counter of the venue, payments to venue staff who aren't officials will NOT be accepted.
Both tournaments will be played in round robin format where you play each team in your group until all matches are completed. The winner of group A will then play a best of three semi-final versus the loser of group B and vice versa. The winners of the semi-finals will then advance to the best of three grand final.
Matches will have sv_pausable enabled, no player is permitted to issue the pause command in a live round, you must wait until that round is completed and you are then to pause the game until the player with issues is back in the server. You MUST get VERBAL confirmation from your opponent that they are ready to go live again before the match can resume.
Teams cannot under any circumstance issue a pause for any reason but a computer crash or a players game crashing to desktop. Pauses so you can leave your seat and talk with your team are forbidden. Teams can only leave their seats in the halftime break and then for a maximum of 5 minutes.
Both teams must report to the admins desk after each game to report and confirm their match scores.
Overtimes will not be played in group stages, in the event the scores are tied at 15 a piece the match will be deemed a draw and both teams awarded 15 round points.
In the event that two teams are in a tied position at the end of a group stage, which is deemed a tie when both teams have the same amount of wins as each other the determining factor of the advancing team will be head to head. Head to head is determined by analysing the result of the match where the two tied teams played and the winner of that match will advance. If the match where the two teams played in a tie was a draw, the team with the least rounds lost over their group stage will advance.
