Hey all,

Last night's match was the glitchiest CEVO match I seen in a long time. From ZeeBOB and another player getting glitched in the roof thanks to our tank and causing all ghost infected to appear stuck there, through to the premature spawning of the tank on NM4 on the roof before we even got to the elevator, and ZeeBOB not being able to spawn a new tank to replace it when we got to the roof. (As infected our tank took them out at the top of NM4 so them not having a tank was bad.)

It was an interesting match and we have lots to work on to try and get better, but the match does raise a good point that I wanted to get clarification on...

What happens when something like one of those glitches occur and there is no admin playing?


Oh and cheers for taking care of those issues ZeeBOB. Give it a week or so and we'd love a return match.

I am guessing the people getting glitched in the roof was on NM1? This happens quite frequently, and I think it has something to do with people getting hit up above, and into, certain probs (I think the fan in nm1, and the vending machines, also the garbage bin on nm5). Not really much you can do about it, L4D will recognize that the player is "stuck" and will free them after a few seconds.

The NM4 tank though, that is just unlucky. As Nuub said, Thats L4D, and has been a bug that has been around since about, what, March? When Valve brought in that patch where the evened out Tank and Witch spawns for both teams.

If there are problems in matches, majority of teams have a player with contact to me, and I often get asked about things on the fly, and if not me Zeebob is usually around to to give a helping hand

Hate that tank glitch...seen it on other maps. Dead Air, tank spawning on the other side of the barricade...etc etc.

Also: Getting hit as a survivor into an object (LIKE A CAR) can go very bad. Sure, the infected can't hit you, but the survivors can't either...and when they walk away, the car goes away, and your left with over 9000 infected clawing you.

It's more that Valve makes the spawns of Tanks/Witches at approx the same location but sometimes it varies. In this case the Tank spawned as we neared the lift rather than when the lift opens at the top and thus the tank basically fell down the lift shaft. However, Valve doesn't have an infected ladder up to the vent so the Tank is stuck in the lift shaft.

Another question I just had.... In CG's CEVO, is it a % chance that a tank will spawn in Finale or guaranteed that one will spawn, cause neither team had a finale tank prior to setting the actual Finale off?

There isn't really a way to prevent it from happening. It's not like we are gonna say "You can not use the tank in these area's because survivors might get caught in ceilings". A lot of the time it happens by accident too.

If you're talking about the DA3 barricade, you can easily jump over it.

Haven't had that happen as of yet in a CG match or that I can remember in pub, but I guess that's one of the reasons we love and hate L4D it's complete randomness and glitching.

About week ago during my teams CG match we got a tank in NM5 however he spawned outside near the helipad while the survivors were still inside. I did a search for climb points, upon remembering that only an AI tank can climb up the building and then down the elevator sharft to reach the survivors. Our captain notified the other team that we wouldn't be able to get the tank to them and either they could come to us or it will go to AI. The tank went to AI and our captain didn't attack during that time. After that we explained why I couldn't go in and attack and the other team understood.

Basically and I think what Zombie is trying to say is that with the randomness of the tank at times sometimes it benefits one team over another or sometimes both teams suffer the best teams/captains can do is inform the other team and let them decide (while doing everything possible to attack).

My understanding and experience is yes you will get a tank before the finale crescendo is triggered i.e. on DA this usually happens straight out of the same room or once you drop out of the safe room sky bridge.

But again with L4D being well L4D glitches and random things do happen. Once had a finale tank on NM not arrive meaning the survivor's helicopter ride wouldn't arrive. Lucky it was on our clan server and we spawned a tank allowing the team to finish.

Forgot about this earlier.

There is a very very very rare occurrence that the tank will just simply not spawn before triggering the event on finale. I have heard about it in total 3 times, once was even in a game of my own. I have no idea what causes it.
