it would be helpful if anyone could tell me any mistakes or anything with the build; personally i doubt i will be overclocking so im not sure the External heatsink is really worth it but who knows. Just give me your thoughts it would be greatly appreciated

Looks good man.
Maybe change for some vengeance ram, and a different hard drive. Apart from that, should do fine.
Also, get an ssd,

64 bit windows. should cost around $150, and the Optical drive should only cost like $20.

Ditch the sound card for now, and when you go to buy another one, get an Asus Xonar STX.

MOBO : fine as long as you dont want sli etc
GFX : good card, at this budget you should be getting a gtx570
CPU: you dont need the K, nor do you NEED to overclock.
RAM: fine
HDD : dont use a green drive for your OS EVER!!. should be running and SSD at this price point.
HEATSINK : ******ed overkill, the $30 or so coolermaster/aywuns do the job. Again, you dont need some giant ******ed cooler to OC anyway.
CASE: living in the 90's. Not bad cases, old and horrid for cabling in though.
PSU: solid PSU
SOUND CARD : dont waste the money, wait til you can afford a good on, ie: ST or STX
MONITOR : Nice enough screens, purists will cry 120hz but its not in your budget. Tho the AOC 120hz panels are only $279 ish
OS : 64 bit is what you want
DVD DRIVE : dvd is dvd, theyre all the same

A Barracuda drive will do you fine, but invest in a SSD if you can afford one. Use that for your OS and the HDD for data - win/win.

I would wait until the next batch of hardware is released. Buying this late in the release cycle is a bit silly....
