This was just a thought that came to my head when I was playing BF3 looking at the server browser.
They could play CGo matches by getting all the members of the match to join an empty dedicated server?
An example of the empty servers-

But all the members would have to join at the right time cos empty severs fill quickly

we had this idea to get some pugs going, though it didnt get much backing as people thought private servers were close to release. I dont think you will see private servers for a few more months so if people wanted to get pugs orgnised this is the way to do it

It's a good way for a scrim especially if both teams can field 12 players but for a stable ladder I don't think it would work, mainly due to the possibility of randoms joining the match. Pretty sure it could work for Squad rush though.

If people showed enough interest, I think we should trial the system in some PUG's and then make a more informed decision on how they play out. Aussie servers usually arn't empty and I don't really enjoy playing in foreign servers.

Imple to solve that problem... Just have people partied up and join with there squads at the same time...

Yeah randoms tend to find a way to get in no matter how hard you try....lots of the US teams are doing this now...

other issue is that sides get auto balanced out at random intervals so swapping sides etc is hard to do especially for the last couple of players to really make it a team vs team contrest

- its good for a scrim which we're hoping to do this week coming - so please all stick around and be active with ya blokes to get these sorted. They are afterall non official ladder games so ya need to make these work yaselves in some aspects by being on and available and just checking the forums - ya can't expect them just to happen - however we will be giving out certain times (generally evening after 7pm) so hope to get some decent players in

1. If you have your whole squad ready to join it shouldn't be a problem as TC AZ 1SK mentioned earlier.
2. If your whole squad is in the match and there aren't any free spots the teams shouldn't auto balance.

has there been any word on when private servers are coming out?

I've read up on this topic for quite a while now and by the looks of it DICE won't be making private servers available to people. They believe that the past BF games were a success because there weren't any private servers, and only dedicated EA servers. If they do decide to make private available to the public it will be a long time from now, because they believe their game is running well and don't want to handle the mess of setting this new system up. I hope I've answered your question well enough.
