booting from onboard with only one dimm of ram is a pretty standard step in attempting to deduce where teh malfunction lies by process of elimination.

you are positive you have the motherboard drivers installed on your pc? if you havent you need to go and download them off your motherboard makers website and install them along with the usb drivers...
