Hey All,
I was just wondering what the best program is to connect a PS3 controller to PC is. I have already tried motionjoy but it's got stupid as controls for GTA. Please don't troll saying use a KB+Mouse its PC for a reason blah blah I only want to use it for racing, GTA style games and for smooth cinematics for edits.

Not exactly sure if it works for PS3, but I used to hook up my xbox controller using XPadder.

If you have Windows 7 64 bit, installing PS3 controller to your PC is a huge ******* pain in the ass, but I've done it.

Capped atm, but you will want to look up Motioninjoy PS3 guides on youtube.

Also, when you install Motioninjoy and you're using the program, select the Xbox360 controller instead of PS3 dualshock one. No idea why, but the Xbox360 settings are much better, I couldn't get both analogs + dpad working at the same time using the Ps3 controller settings, but X360 settings it worked fine.

Apparently its also possible to use XPadder, but I haven't got it working. I would just stick with Motioninjoy.

If you follow the guide and still can't get it working, just tell me what you've done and I will see if there's anything you missed.

I think in some Motioninjoy guides they don't say anything about downloading the PS3 controller drivers. I am not 100% sure if you need them, because a few years ago you needed them but the more up-to-date guides just use motioninjoy.

You *might* need the PS3 drivers (some libusb thing), and they can completely **** your computer up if you install them incorrectly. Like, uninstall your mouse/keyboard so you can't use them type of **** up, which I unfortunately had no system restore so I had to format after doing it.

If a guide tells you that you need the PS3 controller drivers, they will tell you to open some file once, it will pop up for a second then disappear and then its done. Opening it more than once can do what I said before.

Only trouble I'm having with motionjoy now is that it only works with gamepad enabled games like black ops, super meat boy etc but doesn't work where its not like MW3- where I want it for cinematics but yet I've seen it done :/

Ah, I'm not sure how to do that.

I personally set up a PS3 controller on my PC for my PS2 emulator

and with the xbox configuration all the buttons are the wrong way round like O is X etc. :/ Gonna keep trying

Unfortunately you sometimes need to have different key setups for different games. I have a friend who uses an Xbox360 controller as his gamepad and has none of the issues that I get with setting up games, but that's understandable as its a microsoft product.

lol yer I just remapped on a custom profile and trying it now for mw3 its got keystrokes for all my set up and movement too. except y axis seems a lot higher sensitivity than x -axis

that doesn't really help you know because all that does is allow you to use it in games which are gamepad enabled. But atm I'll just have to remap everything :/ for each game.
