A few people have suggested an AA classic league or ladder while we wait for AA3 to be comp ready, as it's taking longer than we first expected.

This post is to shut up the people who keep asking see if anyone is interested. :p

Put a team on this ladder: (it may be a league or ladder yet so just throw the teams on so we can see numbers.

Spread the word around to see if anyone else is interested - get them to post here if they are.
(good ideas are welcome)

Ideas so far:
Version: AA 2.3
This was the last version before the game started slowing down and the comp scene started dying.

Format: 4v4 (it's what most maps are designed for)
Maps: Urban, MOUT, IC, Tunnel, SS

Unpatched and undetectable exploits listed so everyone knows what can be done and how to do it. Detectable unwanted exploits resulting in: 1, 3, season, match bans for consecutive breaches.

Open to other map and general suggestions but only fast maps that don't involve too much camping. WC & CSAR etc are good examples of camping maps (for def) - even though they're good.

sounds fun in theory but a comp for an irrelevant version(and arguably game) would not gain traction, i'm guessing. then again id probably play if by some chance it ever happened.

The game would be approx 760 MB.
No account registration would be required as there aren't any official servers available.
We'd try to have a CG server available in pub mode whenever matches weren't in progress.

If enough people are interested and it goes ahead we'll do a promo vid (maybe videocast) to show to the non AA players of CG.
I think the much faster game play of this earlier version would appeal to a lot more people than the slower version we played in S1 CG.

Based on the progress of AA3... I'm anticipating at least 6 months before it's comp ready. So it might be fun to have another game to play besides CS\COD for that period.

Yeh I would be keen if enough interest was shown.

How many teams do you think it would need? 10?

Possibly less if they're actively playing each week. Also if people are willing to make it happen rather than try make big teams, and limit each team to 4-5 actives with 1-2 reserves it'd make it a lot easier to get teams going.

Despite this being just for fun, if it goes ahead we will still taking cheating very seriously.

Any evidence of cheating will be submitted to CG head admins for a permanent, global cg match ban. So just ask yourself if it's worth it cause we will catch anyone cheating one way or another.

2.4 was the last version before the major tweaking of the game, 2.3 plays the same, just missing a few maps
