I'm thinking of building a computer soon just wonder if the H100 will fit in the Corsair 500R case on this motherboard? I'm a little afraid the the size of the heat sinks will block the 2 x 120mm fans in the top of the case.

  • Intel Core i7 3930K Processor LGA2011 3.2GHz 12M Cache 6 Cores
  • Corsair Cooling Hydro Series H100 High-performance CPU Cooler

  • G Skill 16G(4X4G) DDR3 1600MHZ PC3-12800 CL9(12800CL9Q-16GBZL)
  • Western Digital 2TB SATA3 64M Black
  • Asus GTX580 1536Mb PCI Express

Why do you even need a H100 on that setup? You could just run a H80 and it would do fine.

Also, no SSD for OS? 16GB RAM? What do you even need any of this overkill shit for? If you are going to build a high end machine, get something a bit better than a 500R. Corsair 650D or 600T are good.

Well what case/cooler do you think I should get? I didn't think their was much to choose from when it came to aftermarket coolers for LGA2011. And I don't want a big case either, it seems the dearer a case gets the bigger it gets. What do you recommend? My age and my income is none of your business we're here to discuss issues, that it all.

if you cant troubleshoot a basic sound issue by yourself.

you should NOT be delving into a high end enthusiast platform

Why are you even contemplating the X79 chipset? I very highly doubt you do a lot of encoding or will even fully utilise the processor. Stick to Sandy Bridge and save your money.

Spending money on a X79 build and you take the cheap option for water cooling? Build a loop or go with air cooling.

Also if you're spending under $200 on a case there isn't much of an argument for picking anything over the Fractal Design Arc Mid or a Lian Li.
