Ranked MW3 PUG System | MW3 1v1 FFA Ruleset
Hey guys,
Today CGPS3 is releasing a new variation to the PUG system which has been kindly developed by Asterix.
We are calling it 'ranked' FFA PUGs.
Essentially it is very similar to regular, 'standard' PUGs you are all use to, except here, there are no teams. Each player is individual. For the time being, we will be trialling this new 'individual player' PUG system with the Modern Warfare 3 FFA (Free-For-All) gametype. We hope to expand this system to other titles (racing games especially) as well in the future.
How does it work? How to get started...
First, visit the the FFA Ranked PUG System here:
http://www.cybergamer.com.au/ffa/2/
There you will find a series of 'PUGs' already made that are awaiting players to join. (as shown below)
Join? - As implied, click to JOIN PUG
Info - Pulls out a 'drop-down' box to view players in selected PUG
View - View a specific PUG in more detail. PUG chat is enabled.
Ranked FFA PUGs allow for 8 players to compete against each other. Each PUG listed in the MW3 system indicates a particular weapon that MUST be used during the match - be it Assault Rifles, SMGs, Sniper Rifles or the ability to use any of the three ('All').
Join one of the PUGs that have been created, wait for it to fill up and 'ready up' like you would in a standard team-based PUGBOT. Once everyone is ready, the match can begin. Suggested hosts with PSN IDs will be shown in the channel chatroom for your convenience. Discuss in the chatroom who will host and invite all players into a lobby.
The better you place in the match, the more points you will be awarded. After a match is played, all players need to return and report the scores into the PUG system. It will prompt you to 'Enter Scores'. Enter the score/points that were accumulated in the match, not the total number of kills and deaths.
The PUG System requires a minimum of 6 players to provide scores. Once that's done, the match/pug will complete, player 'rankings' will formulate and a leaderboard generated. Player rankings will be able to view here:
http://www.cybergamer.com.au/ffa/2/rankings/. You can provide evidence of the PUG in the form of a screenshot if you so choose. Admins will be on-call to 'force complete' or cancel matches if necessary.
Rules
Each PUG in the MW3 system will be based upon the ruleset used on the
1v1 MW3 FFA Ladder.
Rules can be found here:
http://www.cybergamer.com.au/ps3/codmw3ffa/ladder/rules/
The only change for PUGs is that
'Radar Always On' must be set to
NO.
Types of Ranked PUG
Anyone can join a Normal or Entry match.
Finishing in the top 2 of a Entry match gains you acceptance into a Final match.
'Entry and 'Final' matches are for people who want a challenge and have a little more pressure added into the mix.
Normal
Points awarded are as follows:
1st Place: 50 points
2nd Place: 20 points
3rd Place: 8 points
4th Place: 7 points
5th Place: 6 points
6th Place: 5 points
7th Place: 4 points
8th Place: 3 points.
Points contribute to your overall player ranking. From this we can evaluate who are the 'better' players.
Entry
No points are on offer in entry matches. Finishing in the TOP 2 of an entry match gain you a spot in a 'Final' match.
Entry matches are qualifiers for 'Final' matches.
Final
The only way to earn a position in a Final match is via finishing TOP 2 from an Entry match.
Once you have earn your spot in a Final match and has been played, you must go back and finish TOP 2 in an Entry match again to get another shot at a Final match.
Final matches are where the most points are available.
Points awarded are as follows:
1st Place: 250 points
2nd Place: 100 points
3rd Place: 40 points
4th Place: 10 points
5th Place: 1 point
6th Place: 1 point
7th Place: 1 point
8th Place: 1 point
'Final' matches aren't part of a 'finals series' per say, it's a way of matching the most active, 'better' players together and those who've placed well in an Entry match. More points are awarded here due to the fact that your opponents should in retrospect be the most experienced, most difficult to beat.
Any feedback and/or issues in relation to the PUG system, please let us know! Remember the system is only in its early-stages and trialling phase.
Good luck and Happy Gaming!
