So has anyone used both a Leopold and a Filco and can they explain the differences. I can hardly justify spending $100 on a keyboard let alone $160.

They were both designed by the same person, so the differences are so little that they're not worth worrying about.

I've used them both and I prefer the Filco, though not by much.

Considering it's something you use every single day you shouldn't need to justify it.

If you had to choose between a $60 rubber dome keyboard that would only last a year or two and a $150 keyboard that would last ten years I would think the decision was easy.

All you're getting with a mechanical keyboard is a better quality product providing you buy from a quality manufacturer, no this doesn't include Razer, Tt or Steelseries (Ok Steelseries is arguable).

Well if you're not a muppet and set up your music software to use hotkeys just get any Majestouch 2 with your chosen switches, full size or tenkeyless.

If you feel crippled without media keys you're stuck with the mutlicam model.
