Katich when batting at 6 didnt perform at all. The Ashes 2005 come to mind where we played at 6 and really struggled. He was always in and out of the side until the retirement of Langer opened a position a the top of the order that he performed in.

There is more of a chance of India winning a series in Australia, South Africa or England then Katich getting recalled and thats saying something. In Australia's full strength side you have Marsh, Khawaja not in the side. If a spot opens up thats who will be going in not a 35+ Katich.

You cant bag the current selectors at all. They kept Ponting, Played an inexperienced Cummins in South Africa, Brang young fast bowlers like Pattinson into the side, Recalled Hilfenhaus, played a guy simply known as a 20/20 player. All those selections have paid off
